Commission Procedure

Commissioning a portrait can be a wonderful experience. It is an opportunity to have a one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable artwork tailored to your unique taste and aesthetics while capturing the likeness, personality and spirit of someone special. Portrait paintings can be commissioned as oil paintings, pastel paintings, or a pencil drawing. The length of time required will vary with the piece and will be discussed initially. The painting process begins with a design consultation, followed by an initial sketch and photo session.  Under certain circumstances the commission can be done exclusively from photos. Prices are determined by the size, medium and difficulty of the piece.Pencil drawings prices begin at $1000, Pastel portrait paintings at $1500 and oil portrait paintings at $2000. Larger paintings, additional figures, pets, elaborate backgrounds and details add to the cost. Travel, tax and shipping expenses are additional. Portraits are unframed.
