Exhibition Requirements
•Open call for fine art paintings, drawings, collage, photography, digital art, AI art. The Library does not permit free standing sculptures. Sculptors may submit preliminary drawings or lighter weight reliefs that can securely hang on
the library’s display system.
•Weston Commission for the Arts and the Library requires exhibiting artist to sign a liability waiver and loan
agreement form.
•Artist must be 14 years or older to be considered for exhibit
•The submitted piece of Art or the Artist must have some connection to Weston. Artist who currently or previously
lived, worked or volunteer in Weston, paintings created in Weston, of Westonites, depicting local views or subjects
are also acceptable. The Weston Commission for the Arts would like to be as inclusive as possible.
•Artist will provide a one-page bio including contact information for sales. Artist will handle sales and deliveries independently. In the event of a sale, 10% of the sale price will be donated to the Friends of the Weston Library.
•No nudes or art inappropriate for children.
•Maximum size 42 inches by 42 including frame, maximum weight 40 lbs.
•Gallery-wrap canvas without additional frame is permissible. Works must be securely wired for hanging.
No saw-toothed hangers.
•Artwork must be available from from receiving till the close of the exhibit.
•Art must be free of copyright infringement.
•No Entry Fee

Deliver artwork to Weston Library on June 30, 2025, 2:00 to 5:30 pm
Art removal August 2, 2025, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Meet the Artist Reception July 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Portraits From a Live Model, Adult Art Class, July 12, 2025, 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Drawing With Pencils, Children Art Class, July 26, 2025, 1:30 to 3:30 pm

Artwork Delivery

•Art must be wired and ready to hang on the Library Display System No saw tooth hardware.
• All waivers and Library forms must be signed at receiving.
•Provide one-page Bio and contact information for sales
•Works for sale or Not for Sale are acceptable. Please note that all sales and deliveries are to be handled by the
Artist and the buyer independently. Artwork cannot be removed prior to the end of the exhibit.
•The receiving committee reserves the right to refuse any painting that is not professionally presented or differs significantly from the submission photo
Artwork Removal
All art MUST be picked up and removed Saturday, August 2, 2025 between 10:00 am and 2.00 pm. Works not
removed at this time will be charged $20/day storage fee and stored at the artist's own risk. Art will be stored for a Maximum of 15 days and will then be donated.
Agreement of Entry and Liability
While every effort will be made to safely handle your art, artists may want to self-insure their work. Entry gives your consent to participate in this exhibition with the understanding that neither the Weston Library, the town of Weston
nor the Weston Commission for the Arts, can be held liable for any damage, loss, or dispute. Please be aware the
Library Community Room is used by all ages, including young children.
Entry gives your consent for selected works to be included in promotional materials printed and online.

The Weston Commission for the Arts has two art opportunities for the public scheduled in the Library community room while the art is on display.
Portraits from a Live Model Saturday, July 12 from 1:00 till 4:00 pm Class is available for 14 years or older.
Draw a portrait of a live clothed model. Artists should bring their own materials.
Cindy Wagner, professional portrait artist and instructor, will teach the class. Additionally, professional artists will
be in attendance to help attendees.

Drawing with Pencils Saturday, July 26 from 1:30 until 3:30 pm children at least 8 years old through 18 can join
a drawing class. Instruction includes the skills of classical drawing methods used by master artists. All materials will
be provided. Professional artists will be in attendance to help attendees.
