At The Breakers
At the Breakers
I started this painting with a drawing using a sepia pastel pencil to determine the size and placement on the canvas.
I completed the wash in using Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Blue oil paints thinned with turpenoid.
I start painting from the back, midground, and then foreground. Adding the far rocks first and working my way forward. I loosely describe the shadows on the figure when I get to the foreground.
I keep the dress darker then It will eventually be. I will save the lightest lights for the final layer.
I added more details to the hair and face.
